A good tournament schedule is only part of running a good event. Tournament day also needs people, signs, scorekeeping, communication, equipment, and backup plans.

Before teams arrive
- Print the final schedule.
- Print score sheets and standings sheets.
- Label courts, fields, or rooms.
- Set up check-in table.
- Confirm balls, cones, nets, whistles, scoreboards, or required equipment.
- Confirm first aid supplies.
- Confirm volunteer roles.
- Post the schedule in a visible place.
- Prepare a digital copy for coaches or team contacts.
